Meet the FCSSC Team

Kyla (she/her): Founder

Kyla founded FCSSC in August of 2009. She lived in Ottawa for a few years and played with the Ottawa Sport & Social Club while living there. She experienced the fun, friends, fitness and connection that FCSSC now offers to our members. When she moved to London, she missed the sport & social club experience, felt the need and saw the opportunity to bring improved quality of life to adults in our community.

Dave (he/they): Director

Dave is the new Director of FCSSC, joining the club after 12 years at the YMCA working in Aquatics, Outdoor Education, Youth Engagement and overseeing fitness facilities. He led staff teams large and small in trying to provide great options for healthy living to communities across Southwestern Ontario. He has a passion for the outdoors, sports and anything he can do with his two dogs Charlie and Jimmy. Dave is a committed lifelong learner demonstrated by an addiction to school (he has Masters degrees in both Education and Business Administration) and volunteer roles as a board director with both Humana Community Services and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Dave got into adult leagues by co-founding Summit Sports last year to bring competitive volleyball back to London (despite being a mediocre volleyball player).

Dave currently plays Ultimate and Volleyball and is trying to visit every National Park in Canada. He is very excited about the Social in Sport and Social and to be starting a new adventure in the Forest City.

Maddy (she/her): League Coordinator

Maddy first started with FCSSC several years ago as a Game Coordinator, earned her bachelor's in Recreation & Sport Business from U Waterloo, and joined the FCSSC team full-time in January 2022. Our organizational champion, she handles our member services & the logistics of keeping all the leagues running smoothly.

You've likely seen her checking on things around the field/court - give her a wave next time you see her out and about! In her time off she likes volleyball, tennis, soccer, cycling, and country music.

Emily (she/her): League Coordinator

Emily has been a member of FCSSC since 2016, and joined the team as League Coordinator in summer 2022. She has a background in music education, and has earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor.

Emily is an unapologetic Taylor Swift fan, is passionate about pizza, and enjoys spending her free time doing various activities with friends – including karaoke, board games, and of course, playing Ultimate and Softball with FCSSC!
